Author Anne Grady shows us how to rethink what it means to be happy. We often think we must achieve something new to be happy: “If I get a master's degree I’ll be happy,” “If I get married I’ll be happy,” or “If I get this car I’ll be happy.” The reality is that you can achieve all of your dreams and still not be happy. You’re never always a certain emotion, and it’s really about taking time to acknowledge the good ones when they happen so that you can make it through the bad ones. If you chose to dwell on all of the negative things, you’re going to find them all the time. Life has ups and downs, and you get to choose where you want to focus.
