If you have a big proposal coming up and “sigh,” that’s an indication you’re telling yourself, “This sucks and I don’t want to do it.” But if you have a “bring it on!” attitude it can be very energizing. You will begin to have a different relationship with the things that stress you out. Your mindset does matter. You’re feeding your brain either with a positive or negative message. Kute Blackson says our mind is constantly going. We have 65,000-75,000 thoughts a day. It’s a constant person inside of us saying, “Hey, don’t do that,” “Do that,” “Eat that ice cream,” “What’s wrong with you?” “You’re not good enough.” “Oh my God, you’re so _____!”

Our mind is programmed and conditioned from childhood, and many of the thoughts we’re thinking are not even ours, they’ve been passed down to us from generation to generation, and we’re just playing them out daily. But just because the thought is in your mind it doesn’t mean it’s real or a fact. We must realize that it’s not the thoughts that are important but your relationship with your thoughts. The mind is an amazing salesperson, and we must start to question and not just buy what our mind is selling us. Kute teaches us how to decipher and stop buying fake thoughts believing they’re real.

As our business grows, we have less and less time, but more and more money. So there’s a shift that takes place, and we have to master managing our time and money, leveraging both to make our business grow.

Wilma Jones talks about mindfulness, or the ability to be present in the current moment. It’s capacity to focus on exactly where you are right now and what you are doing in the moment without judgment. The biggest thing about mindfulness is the incorporation of breathing, because breathing while you're mindful is what causes the physiological changes that happen to your body. There is also a difference between mindfulness vs. mindlessness. When you’re mindless, you let past experiences keep you stuck in behavior patterns. Mindfulness is all about having control over your thoughts without judging and making assumptions about what’s going to happen based on your memories of the past.
